PO Storgöteborg
In the Storgöteborg police area, nearly one million residents live. Our geographical area spans seven municipalities. The Storgöteborg police area is divided into five local police areas: Gothenburg city, Kungälv/Ale, Storgöteborg Hisingen, Storgöteborg northeast, and Storgöteborg south. At the police area level, investigative activities are organized into investigative duty and investigative sections. Additionally, there is a police area office.
Office
The task of the area office is to support the area management with operational coordination, management, and follow-up of activities. The office coordinates issues, supports operational branches, and the police area as a whole, such as the police area's operations center. PDC now exists in every police area in Sweden. PDC has a broad mandate that includes looking at what has happened, what needs to be done, what resources are needed, and whether the measures are effective. PDC also supports with situational reports, legal status, intelligence, coordination, and the group also conducts some assessments. PDC participates in many of the region's situational report meetings, updates, etc. This creates a comprehensive view of the region's and our local situation, so that the right priorities can be made.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In your role as an analyst at the area office, you will have a broad role where you handle various types of questions and referrals with a strong focus on crime prevention and criminal economics. You will be part of the police area's operations center and will prepare cases related to welfare crime with other functions in the operations center. The work includes collaboration with external partners and driving and participating in various projects.
Your job responsibilities include:
- Project management
- Driving operational analyses
- Analyzing complex information from various data sources
- Developing situational report work at the police area from a criminological perspective
- Collaborating with external actors
QUALIFICATIONS
- Academic degree in a field deemed relevant by the authority, such as political science or social science, including good knowledge of social science methods.
- Experience working within the police
- Experience in project management
- Experience in gathering, managing, and analyzing complex information from various data sources
- Experience in operational analyses
- Work experience in compiling and presenting cases orally to a group
- Experience in report writing
- Very good IT skills and good proficiency in MS Office
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
It is meritorious if you also have:
- Experience from the Police or other law enforcement government authorities in work against organized crime
- Experience working against criminal economics
- Experience working against welfare crime
- Experience working against money laundering issues
Personal qualities
As an analyst at the area office, you will handle a large amount of information, and we see that you are structured and have good analytical skills. The role requires a humble and flexible working approach and the ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances. In addition, you need to have a sense for nuances, details, and connections. You must have good communication skills and find it easy to make yourself understood in various contexts, both orally and in writing. We require good collaboration skills and the ability to create and maintain good relationships both within and outside the Police Authority. The assignment also requires you to take significant personal responsibility for your task and structure your work independently. You are positive, engaged, and service-oriented.
