Description

The Urban Environment Administration has a comprehensive responsibility for the city's public spaces and overall accessibility.

We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 900 people work in the administration.

The Urban Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City. Together, we work to create conditions for a functioning infrastructure, housing, and quality premises, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives.

Job Responsibilities

We now need to temporarily strengthen the HR department with an additional engaged Occupational Health Engineer on a part-time basis, which means about 1–2 days a week depending on demand. You will contribute your expertise and support the organization's managers in order to develop, drive, and ensure a healthier and safer workplace with a focus on the physical work environment for our operational activities. You will assist in risk assessments and actions related to these, all in close collaboration with our team of HR specialists in occupational health and safety. The assignments are varied and developing in a complex organization. Our regular occupational health engineer is of course available for consultation and coordination when needed. You will independently conduct assessments of noise and ergonomic risk assessments. A large part of your work will involve collaborating with safety representatives and managers to perform risk assessments regarding different work methods, machines, and tools. The work also includes reporting results at the local safety committee meetings and participating in unit meetings.

The position is located in the HR department, led by an HR manager, where we are over 20 engaged employees.

Qualifications

For the position, you need to be a qualified occupational health engineer, or you are in the final stages of your education and/or have certificates in relevant courses. We see that you have experience working with occupational health issues related to operations, maintenance, facilities, and landscaping. Good computer and IT skills are required, and you should have a good knowledge of current laws, regulations, and standards in the field of occupational health and safety. It is particularly meritorious if you hold course certificates in measurement techniques of occupational hygienic exposures or if you can demonstrate documented work experience. It is also desirable if you hold a B driver's license as the position involves some travel between different addresses.

The assignment requires close collaboration with our occupational health engineer as well as our operations, managers, and safety representatives. To be successful in the role, we see that you have good collaborative skills but also the ability to work independently and in a structured manner.

To thrive in the assignment, we see that you are self-driven, interested in how to successfully integrate people, technology, and organization in a safe and efficient way so that we remain an attractive employer. You have a strong commitment and sense of responsibility, which is reflected in your drive and ability to identify areas for development within occupational health work, particularly in the physical work environment.

You also have good communication skills and feel confident presenting to both small and large groups.

Conditions

With us, you will work in an administration focused on development, collaboration, and diversity. We offer flexible working hours (with exceptions in certain departments), wellness benefits, and cycling benefits - so you can combine an exciting job with a sustainable private life.

As an employer, we have a responsibility to ensure that you have the right to reside and work in Sweden. Therefore, at a physical interview, you will need to show your passport or national ID card. Selection and interviews are ongoing, so do not wait to apply!
