Uddevalla District Court is a general court that handles criminal cases, civil cases, court matters, and bankruptcies. The court has over 42 employees and is located in central Uddevalla. The court is led by the chief judge and is organized into a case unit and an administration and service unit.

The administrative unit is led by the chief administrator. The unit works with internal and external service, personnel and financial administration, archives, lay judge management, order and security, cleaning, technology, and IT.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a recognized three-year upper secondary education or another equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • has completed security guard training and has a valid current security guard permit, or meets the requirements and is willing to undergo police security guard training funded by the court. It is an absolute requirement that you attend and pass this training.   • has several years of work experience in administrative tasks or relevant experience for the position
  • can express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing
  • has good knowledge of English/fluency in English
  • has normal color vision

It is advantageous if you have:

  • completed training and have the authority to serve in security control at the court
  • experience from working at a court and/or security work at a court
  • work experience in administration and security
  • work experience from the security industry
  • work experience from security work as an X-ray operator

Job Content

Together with other security guards, you will be part of the security and service group responsible for providing good external and internal service and maintaining order and security in the court's premises.

Your tasks as a security guard include staffing the security control, serving in the court's public areas, and being responsible for alarms, access control systems, and technology in the courtrooms.

The security control is equipped with an X-ray machine, which means that you as a security guard will also work as an X-ray operator.

A large part of your working time will also be taken up by administrative tasks, such as staffing the reception, handling mail, releasing public documents, purchasing, janitorial duties, registering compensation for witnesses, and fees for lay judges. Other administrative tasks may occur.

The tasks are very varied and independent, and you will perform them under your own responsibility together with the court's other security guards. In your work, you will have both internal and external contacts daily, such as with authorities, lay judges, parties, and representatives, as well as media and the public.

Some overtime work will be included in the employment as negotiations may sometimes continue after regular working hours and on-call duty during weekends.

The basic training for security guards is conducted by the Police Authority. The basic requirements to become a security guard can be read on the Police's website. The intended training period is in Gothenburg from August 10 to September 2, 2026. The date for tests is June 16, 2026. The tests will take place in Skövde.

The training opportunity may be adjusted depending on the start date of the position. The position is permanent with a six-month probationary period.
