JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT center is responsible for the IT operations in the municipalities of Heby, Knivsta, Tierp, Älvkarleby, and Östhammar. Your place of work will be in one of our member municipalities, and you will work with the network infrastructure of all municipalities.

The guiding principles of the IT infrastructure unit are responsibility, service spirit, and development, and with us, you will have the opportunity for exciting and independent work in an open work environment.

As a network technician in our network infrastructure team, you will have the following main responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting and incident management - Identify and resolve network issues and outages. Work efficiently to minimize downtime and optimize network performance.
• On-site support when required, such as troubleshooting, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of switches/routers and WiFi equipment.
• Security and monitoring - Implement and monitor network security measures, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments.
• Network documentation - Update and maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and changes.
• Project work - contribute technical expertise and skills as a project participant.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with great commitment and a service mindset, who strives to find solutions and create customer satisfaction, and who has the ability to structure, plan, and execute tasks independently.

You should have:

• A degree in computer science, network technology, or equivalent experience that we consider comparable.
• Deep technical knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and the ability to work with networking devices from various manufacturers.
• A strong understanding of network security principles and experience implementing and managing security measures.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to collaborate with colleagues and resolve complex technical issues.
• A good understanding of economics and budgeting within the field of network infrastructure.
• Very good skills in both Swedish and English; spoken and written.
• A valid driver's license (B).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in computer science or network technology.
• 5 years of experience in advanced network management.
• Experience working in industries that require high data security, such as finance or healthcare.
• Experience with cloud-based network management and configuration.
• Knowledge of SDN (Software Defined Networking) and virtualization technologies.
• Experience working with large, global network infrastructures.
• Relevant network-related certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIP, or equivalent.
• Experience in programming and automation to streamline network operations.
