Education Department

We are looking for a driven and proactive systems specialist who enjoys working both independently and in a team. The Department of Student and Educational Support is part of the operational support with around 40 employees distributed across four campuses. We are responsible for administrative and supportive activities primarily related to student and educational issues.

About the job

Your tasks will include:

• being the object specialist/system administrator for one or more educational systems
• ensuring that the systems comply with current requirements regarding accessibility and security
• serving as a link between the operation (teachers and educational administrators) and technology.
• understanding and supporting the needs of the operation
• working with requirements specification against IT/suppliers
• communicating with users, e.g., at the institutions, staff in the IT department, with external suppliers and their support, often in English.
• handling system support and writing manuals/guides
• training users in the educational systems

Your background

As a person, you easily grasp new systems and enjoy problem-solving. You work just as well in a group as independently, are driven, and take initiative.

To succeed in this role, you need to have good collaboration skills and enjoy interacting with users from various operations within the university. You are comfortable standing in front of groups and teaching, and you are fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

We are looking for someone who has

• a university degree in a relevant field or equivalent qualifications as assessed by the employer
• documented experience in system administration
• experience in creating system documentation, risk analyses, continuity plans, etc.
• the ability to prioritize between multiple tasks and work systematically
• good ability to adapt communication for different target groups (core operations, IT, external suppliers, etc.)

About us

The unit for educational systems and media works with the digitalization of the educational environment and is responsible for SLU's digital tools for learning support. Most employees are located at Campus Ultuna in Uppsala, but the unit also has staff at SLU's campuses in Umeå and Skara. The position is based in Uppsala. The role may involve travel between SLU's main locations.

The Department of Student and Educational Support also includes the Unit for Student and Career Support and the Unit for Study Administration and Mobility.
