Professional Galaxy is looking for an Experienced FPGA Developer for space applications on behalf of our client.

We are seeking an experienced FPGA developer to participate in the development of edge computers for space applications. This involves working in a project team on requirements, design, implementation, testing & verification, and maintenance of FPGA-based computer hardware and custom software design. The role is a crucial part of the development work to ensure robust and optimized functionality in hardware-near solutions for real-time critical applications.Qualifications (Requirements):-Educational level: M.Sc. or B.Sc. in electronics, software development, computer engineering, or similar.-Documented extensive experience in FPGA development, preferably with Microsemi platforms.-Good knowledge of SystemVerilog/Verilog for design and verification.-Experience with Linux development environments and driver programming in C.-Understanding of real-time systems, embedded solutions, and integration with other subsystems.-Fluent in Swedish and good English in both spoken and written form.-Security clearance may be required depending on the assignment, even for Swedish citizens.Meritorious:-Experience in product development from the space industry, or from other sectors with high demands on quality and robustness (e.g., defense, aviation, medical technology).-Knowledge of relevant standards for space electronics (e.g., those that are part of ECSS).-Experience with Python, Git, Tcl, and VUnit.Personal qualities:-Analytical and solution-oriented.-Self-driven and structured with high quality in deliveries.-Communicative and a team player who thrives in a close-knit team.-Flexible and proactive.

OtherThe consultant normally needs to be on-site in Uppsala every working day of the week. Some remote work may be allowed over time, a few days here and there, depending on the nature and needs of the project. Depending on which of several planned projects the candidates would best fit for, the current start date may be as soon as possible in January or later in Q1 2026. Therefore, we wish for the application to state which alternative start dates are possible for the candidate.
