About the Unit

FMTIS has a collective responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and management of the Armed Forces' technical command support systems. The systems support military operations at sea, on land, and in the air - in Sweden and abroad. The systems unit is responsible for the management of technology and equipment in the Armed Forces' fixed command support systems, technical and infrastructural design, and architecture of the common defense information infrastructure. The systems unit operates at several locations across the country and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of large parts of the Armed Forces' communication, radio, radar, and IT system infrastructure. The main tasks of the systems unit are to ensure that the technical systems have the availability required by the Armed Forces. This position belongs to the Maintenance Department.

Main Responsibilities

The work involves technical management of the Armed Forces' material systems. You possess a technical understanding and a basic technical competence to guide specialists with deep technical knowledge to use their expertise in the right direction. The work involves leading, planning, and directing the system management of the Air Force's command centers.

  • lead, plan, and direct the system management of command centers
  • lead and participate in project work
  • plan, order, and follow up preventive maintenance according to maintenance regulations or other governing documents
  • establish maintenance plans for assigned material/system (including operation, maintenance, and modification measures throughout the year)
  • conduct production follow-up meetings with maintenance suppliers
  • act as technical support and requirement setter for the operational organization
  • be a contact point between different actors within total defense
  • review documentation, e.g., maintenance documents
  • report needs for changes to the responsible technical system leader and material area manager
  • establish and update management and system integrity plans.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Technical university education or equivalent education/work experience deemed relevant by the employer
  • Driver's license B

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is curious, engaged, and service-oriented, has an easy time making contact with people, and has a good ability to express themselves verbally and in writing. You are used to leading and engaging others and have a strong personal drive. You are a good team player while also taking initiative and responsibility. You possess good administrative skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

MERITORIOUS

  • Experience in practical leadership, e.g., as a team leader or equivalent
  • Experience with command support systems and their infrastructure within the Armed Forces
  • Experience with command systems in command centers within the Armed Forces or defense industry, primarily from a management perspective but also from a technical perspective
  • Experience in project management
  • Language skills in technical English

Other

Employment type: Permanent civilian employment. The Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not currently employed by the authority.
Employment level: Full-time.

The position involves travel both for the day and for longer periods.
Start date: By agreement.
