Are you interested in exciting assignments where you can contribute to work with IT architecture and further develop our architectural capabilities? Then you might be the one we are looking for!
About the IT Department
The IT department has overall responsibility for the municipality's IT and works both strategically, governing, and supporting. To create even better conditions for digital development, the IT department has been organized into four areas. The unit is part of the Strategy and Transformation area where other functions, including information security, cybersecurity, IT governance, and IT procurement, are gathered.
The Transformation Unit is responsible for:
- the IT architecture function
- competence center in new technologies such as artificial intelligence and data platforms
- strategic and tactical support to various operations' management in the work with digital transformation
- the IT department's collaboration with operations to drive transformation and ensure that our deliveries meet needs.
Your Role
The IT architecture function is well-established, and we are now looking for another IT architect who wants to contribute to the digital transformation of the Uppsala municipal group. As an employee of Uppsala Municipality, you will not only gain stability and security – you will also become part of a context where your engagement truly makes a difference and contributes to community development.
Job Description
You will be part of a team of IT architects working with IT architecture both strategically and tactically, and in some cases operationally. The IT architecture function supports the entire municipal group's operations, which encompass everything from healthcare and education to basic IT. The work is conducted in close collaboration with the operations but also with IT strategists, information architects, and business architects.
In your role, you will:
- work together with four architect colleagues as part of the municipality's IT architecture function and other relevant architecture forums.
- actively collaborate with other functions and operations to support various development efforts by producing architecture descriptions.
- support operational activities in implementing technical solutions, guiding operations in digitalization through the municipality's IT platform where AI and data platforms are central components.
- participate in and lead analyses, reviews, preparation of materials for decision-making, and contribute to the development of the municipality's architectural capabilities.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in IT at the university level or through a vocational education program or equivalent experience that the employer deems relevant for the position. To succeed in this role, you need to have experience in architectural work in complex environments, where both organizational and IT perspectives have been central. You also need to have experience in business development.
We prefer candidates with experience working in public sector organizations. Knowledge of TOGAF and ArchiMate is considered an advantage.
We value learning, transparency, and knowledge sharing and expect this to be part of your approach. You have a pedagogical demeanor, the ability to translate complex issues into a language suitable for the target audience, and are humble and receptive. You also possess strong analytical skills, can think abstractly, and can easily contextualize things in different time perspectives.
