About the Workplace
Do you want to help build the next generation of secure, robust, and future-proof networks in Håbo Municipality?
We are looking for a senior network technician/network architect who will take primary responsibility for network design, segmentation, monitoring, and security – and who wants to be a key person in the municipality's work according to the Cybersecurity Act and NIS2.
You will have a central role in a modern IT team where service, IT architecture, security, and quality are the focus.
About Digitalization and IT
Digitalization and IT are responsible for the municipality's IT infrastructure, operations, networks, cybersecurity, identity management, support services, and operational support. We are facing an important shift from fragmented initiatives to coordinated and architecture-driven development, where we build sustainable working methods, clear platforms, and a modern target architecture for the municipality.
Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Network Technician / Network Architect, you are responsible for developing, operating, and securing the municipality's network and associated infrastructure. You drive the direction, standards, and documentation of the network together with colleagues – ensuring that the network environment is robust, manageable, and complies with applicable legal requirements.
You work closely with operations and network technicians, digitalization strategists, information security officers, as well as support and the operational technology environments of the businesses. The role is both operational and strategic – you work hands-on while also setting the direction.
You contribute to structured management of incidents, problems, and changes in Freshservice, as well as improved process maturity within ITIL-inspired working methods.
Network and Design
- Design, develop, and manage the municipality's network architecture, standards, and design principles.
- Lead the work on segmentation, zone models, Zero Trust, and secure network policies.
- Be responsible for stability, redundancy, and high availability throughout the network environment.
Security and the Cybersecurity Act/NIS2
- Ensure that the network environment meets the requirements of the Cybersecurity Act and NIS2, including risk-reducing technical controls.
- Work with information security, access controls, IAM, logging, and traceability.
- Participate in security reviews, audits, and continuity planning.
Documentation and Governance
- Build and maintain a cohesive documentation structure for networks and infrastructure.
- Document topologies, segments, dependencies, firewall rules, OT connections, and configuration standards.
- Guarantee compliance with documentation requirements according to NIS2 and architectural principles.
- Contribute to CMDB, lifecycle management, and technical change governance.
Technical Key Areas
- Aruba switches and HPE IMC (configuration, lifecycle, health checks).
- ClearPass NAC – onboarding, policies, design, and troubleshooting.
- Fortinet firewalls – rules, routing, and secure zone models.
- Collaboration with OT/SCADA solutions within water and sewage, property, and other technical systems.
Monitoring and Alarm Management
- Be responsible for monitoring via OP Manager, IMC, and NOC partners.
- Develop alarm flows, reports, improvement plans, and trend analysis.
- Manage incidents together with operations and support.
- Promote proactive alarm management and follow-up on critical events.
Collaboration and Projects
- Support operations and support in advanced network and security incidents.
- Act as a technical sounding board in projects, procurements, and changes.
- Collaborate with suppliers for larger projects, such as WiFi design, switch replacements, network relocations, or security-enhancing measures.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Several years of experience in networks in complex environments.
- Good competence in Aruba switches, VLAN, routing, and redundancy.
- Experience with ClearPass/NAC, Fortinet firewalls, and security architecture.
- Knowledge of network segmentation, Zero Trust, and policy-driven networks.
- Experience with network monitoring (e.g., OP Manager, IMC, Armis).
- Familiarity with incident, problem, and change management systems.
- Experience in documentation, infrastructure design, and configuration management.
- Understanding of OT/SCADA communication.
- Good ability to communicate technology understandably.
- Good understanding of ITIL-inspired working methods and structured work with documentation, traceability, and follow-up.
Meritorious
- Experience in the public sector or municipal IT.
- Knowledge of the Cybersecurity Act/NIS2.
- Experience with ITIL, PM3, 2c8, or architectural governance.
- Experience with Azure AD and hybrid environments.
We are looking for someone who
- has a holistic view of networks, security, and operations
- works in a structured way and sees documentation as a natural part of quality work
- is confident in the role of both specialist and advisor
- wants to help build long-term, sustainable, and secure solutions
- thrives in close collaboration with colleagues, businesses, and suppliers
