Core Systems Engineer for dacreo SpaceStack

We are looking for a Core Systems Engineer for a growing deep-tech company in Uppsala who wants to take a key role in the development of dacreo SpaceStack, our cloud and Kubernetes-based software platform for space systems.

About the Position

This is a central role in the company where you will have a significant influence on both technology and the product's future direction. As a Core Systems Engineer, you will work with the core of dacreo SpaceStack and have a direct impact on architecture, technical choices, and how the platform develops in the long term.

You will be part of a smaller, high-performing team and work closely with founders, system architects, and cutting-edge customers in commercial space, defense, and advanced autonomous systems. Here, there are short decision-making paths, a high technical level, and real room for influence.

dacreo SpaceStack enables robust, secure, and fault-tolerant software operation in space environments through, among other things:

• Kubernetes-based orchestration (k3s compatible)
• Seamless integration between ground, edge, and satellite systems
• Tolerance to radiation, latch-ups, and intermittent links
• Deterministic behavior, monitoring, and lifecycle control

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work both hands-on and strategically with:

• Design and development of core components in dacreo SpaceStack
• Architectural work for distributed systems in extreme environments
• Development in Go, Linux-close systems, and container platforms
• Integration with Yocto-based systems, eBPF, and Kubernetes APIs
• Support for error handling, monitoring, and autonomous recovery
• Technical leadership and close collaboration with the product organization and customers

Suitable Background

You have:

• Very good system understanding in Linux environments
• Experience with Go
• Deep understanding of distributed systems
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes (or k3s)
• Ability to work structured in security- and quality-sensitive systems
• Ability to speak and write in both Swedish and English

Meritorious:

• Experience with Yocto / embedded Linux
• eBPF, low-level monitoring, or kernel-close development
• Space systems, defense, avionics, or safety-critical systems
• CCSDS, DTN, or intermittent networks
• Previous architectural responsibility or technical leadership roles
