About the role

As a QA Lead, you will be part of our development team and report directly to the IT manager. The role is new and will evolve over time, giving you a great opportunity to influence both content and working methods.

Currently, a large part of the testing is performed manually, partly by the support team. Your mission will be to take over and coordinate the testing, reduce the burden on other teams, and gradually build more structured and automated testing processes.

Initially, the role is very hands-on, where you will conduct tests yourself – often in close collaboration with the development team, support, as well as external resources and students during intensive testing periods.

Your responsibilities

You will own and lead the entire testing process – from planning and execution to follow-up and improvement. You will also:

• Perform manual testing in our development and release phases
• Coordinate internal and external testing resources during, for example, beta tests
• Identify opportunities for test automation and develop a long-term roadmap
• Build structures, documentation, and working methods that ensure quality over time
• Work closely with the development team to improve testability and quality in the code
• Ensure that lessons learned from previous releases are utilized and implemented in the processes
• Contribute to projects and long-term improvement initiatives during periods of lower testing load

Requirements

• Experience in QA and testing of web-based applications
• Understanding of both manual and automated testing
• Technical understanding and experience in web development, e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS (preferably also PHP or similar)
• Good problem-solving skills and high accuracy
• Very good communication skills in both Swedish and English
• Ability to work from our office in Uppsala
• EU citizenship

Meritorious

• Experience in implementing or further developing test automation
• Understanding of web security and how risks can be identified in testing work
• Previous experience working closely with development teams in product companies
• Experience in coordinating testing efforts with multiple parties
