Game Changer

As a Game Changer, you are a bridge builder between isolation and community. You meet home sitters where they are – often in the digital world – and use video games as tools to build trust and open doors to support and new opportunities. The role of Game Changer is a new and innovative position aimed at breaking social isolation among home sitters. Through outreach and relationship-building efforts, you help individuals find their way back to community and support.

The position is part-time, 25-50%, with immediate start and is organized under the municipal board. You will be based at the adult unit Maria Nova in central Mariestad.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Game Changer, you primarily work with the target group of young people aged 18 and above. Here, you play an important role in reducing isolation and increasing participation for home sitters through innovative methods that combine technology and human contact. The assignment includes the following tasks:

• Outreach work targeting individuals who have isolated themselves from school, work, or social contexts.
• Create contact and build trust through digital activities, primarily video games.
• Act as a bridge to other services, such as school, healthcare, and social services.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external actors to create individual solutions.
• Document and follow up on efforts according to the organization's routines.

The position extends until 261231. You will primarily work during the day, but varying hours may also occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• A good understanding of gaming culture and digital environments.
• Experience in relationship-building work with young people or adults in vulnerable situations.
• The ability to work independently and proactively.
• Creativity, patience, and flexibility in your approach.

As a person, you are empathetic and responsive with a solution-oriented and initiative-taking attitude. Furthermore, you are social and communicative and can easily build trust with others.

A driving license (B) is required for the position.
