About the Job

We are looking for someone who wants to work as a social worker with us.

We are an experienced, committed, stable, and professional team - where we together make a difference for those we serve.

The unit is located in a local office in Lövgärdet, which is part of the Social Administration Nordost. Our proximity to users and collaboration with everyone involved in the welfare of children and youth has provided us with the opportunity for more and better conversations with children and their parents. Within the framework of authority work, we strive for high participation from users, transparency, and co-creation of solutions. The work is network-based, as we see that this fosters more engagement from users and builds trust. The Department of Social Work at the University of Gothenburg has conducted research in 2024 and 2025, where preliminary results show several advantages of decentralized social authority work.

We also work on co-creating safety for children and youth through Signs of Safety, BBIC, and improved documentation. Training is provided in the above methods and models.

We have ongoing professional development and we learn from each other, as well as from our close partners such as schools in Lövgärdet, Ung Nordost, Minimaria, family centers, field workers, leisure staff, infant groups, MST, school social workers, and our colleagues in resource units.

We are a small team of eight social workers and one senior social worker, and soon another resource for a senior social worker. We work in teams and flexibility and responsibility for the task are needed. It is important for us to allocate time for reflection, recovery, and professional development within working hours. Regular process supervision is available in the unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and well-founded knowledge of the area's legislation regarding interventions under SoL and LVU. Experience in investigations involving children and youth or other authority work in the social field is an advantage. Since the job involves some travel, having a B driver's license is considered a plus.

As a person, you are flexible and collaborative. It is important that you have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals, as well as adapt your working methods based on changing conditions and new information. You are a secure and stable person who can balance different demands and remain calm in difficult situations. Furthermore, you are comfortable in social interactions, both informal and formal.

For us, reflection, recovery, and professional development are important parts of the job. Therefore, it is essential that you are development-oriented and keep yourself updated through environmental monitoring and regularly reflect on what can be improved in the organization.

About Us

The Social Administration Nordost works to provide residents in northeastern Gothenburg with equal and effective welfare, allowing them to live safe and independent lives. The administration provides support to individuals and families according to the Social Services Act. We also offer activities and meeting places that can provide children and youth with meaningful leisure time.
