About the role

As a support educator, you have a key role with overall responsibility for the pedagogical work. You design, develop, and follow up on working methods and interventions based on each individual's needs, goals, and conditions, ensuring quality and equality in the methods.

The operation is a service housing according to SoL and LSS for adults aged 30–65 who are mainly self-sufficient. The work is primarily characterized by motivational and support measures, with some care as needed.

Together with the workgroup:

  • you establish, implement, and follow up on routines, action plans, and implementation plans.
  • you are responsible for ensuring that job descriptions and work distribution are current.

You are a support and a guide for your colleagues, a close sounding board for the unit manager, and you work with methods such as MI (Motivational Interviewing), LAB (Low Arousal Approach), ESL (An Independent Life), and clarifying pedagogy.

You collaborate with relatives, guardians, and other important actors and are part of the district's pedagogical network for experience exchange and joint development.

You work closely with the tenants and provide individually tailored support in everyday life. With a coaching and motivating approach, you create, together with your colleagues, conditions for structure, participation, and self-determination based on each person's ability.

The housing offers support around the clock. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and every other weekend, with scheduling in Time Care Planning, which provides operationally adapted and flexible schedules.

Together we do meaningful work that makes a real difference in people's lives. Independence and participation for our tenants permeate the entire operation.

We are looking for someone with training as a support or social educator, or a post-secondary specialization in the field of disabilities that includes at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The training should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care.

This means a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the test user EducateIt.

You express yourself clearly in both speech and writing and ensure that your message gets through. You are change-oriented, see opportunities for development, and motivate others by constructively and pedagogically driving new ideas and working methods.
