The management office of Region Uppsala is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. The management office is led by the regional director and consists of about one thousand employees. With a governing, supportive, and coordinating role, the management office is tasked with supporting the political leadership and administrations so that the political direction is reflected in the region's various operations. In this way, Region Uppsala can fulfill its role, both regionally and nationally.

Our Operations

At the Procurement and Logistics Department, we are looking for a meticulous and computer-savvy summer intern who wants to help optimize our new database. Within our mission, we procure over 70,000 consumables ordered by 5 regions: an efficient system is crucial for operations within healthcare, and here you can make a difference!

As a summer intern with us, you will have the opportunity to learn about database management, optimization, and efficiency, while also learning about the daily operational work within Procurement and Purchasing. Throughout your time with us, you will receive help and support from a mentor and other members of our team.

Your Assignment

Your tasks include:

• Managing items in our new database to optimize availability, speed, and efficiency
• Assisting with simpler administrative tasks within the department
• Supporting daily tasks and projects as needed

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Works meticulously and in a structured manner
• Has basic computer skills, preferably experience with the Office suite, especially Excel.
• Enjoys working with details and analyzing patterns in data
• Likes to work independently but is not afraid to ask for help
• Is positive, flexible, and solution-oriented

It is an advantage if you have started or completed an education in, for example:

• Computer Science
• Economics
• IT

Or other equivalent education.
