We are currently seeking an accounting economist on behalf of our Uppsala-based client for a project employment of 6 months with the possibility of extension to a total of 12 months. The assignment is for a government authority. The start date is immediate (around 11/3 2026) and we are looking for candidates with relevant post-secondary education and at least three years of experience. Alternatively, you may have a high school education and at least five years of relevant work experience.

• Has a university degree in economics or equivalent education and at least three (3) years of work experience in tasks corresponding to those listed below. Alternatively, a high school or equivalent education in the relevant field and five (5) years of work experience as an accounting economist.
• Has good knowledge of MS Office or equivalent, especially Excel
• Has experience in government accounting
• Can communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing

• Work in the financial system Unit 4 ERP and others, handling accounting and bookkeeping (e.g., accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cash and bank reconciliations)
• Budget work
• Prepare reports on financial results and perform analyses of results and year-end closing
• Participate in budget follow-up work with reconciliations, troubleshooting, and controls
• Work on annual closing
• Work on closing and period-end
• Invoicing; participate in a project related to invoicing and fee control

This is a consulting assignment with employment at OIO during the project period. The project lasts six months with the possibility of an additional six-month extension.
