About the position

At Perido, we are now seeking an accounting economist for a government agency with an important societal mission. The organization works to ensure safe food, accurate information to consumers, and a secure supply of food and drinking water – both in everyday life and during crises. The assignment contributes to creating conditions for sustainable and healthy choices in society. The position is based at the agency's office in Uppsala.

Your responsibilities

In the role of accounting economist, you will be responsible for ongoing accounting and financial follow-up in the organization. The work includes handling bookkeeping in financial systems, producing financial reports, and participating in budget and closing processes. You will work with analyses, reconciliations, and controls to ensure accurate and quality-assured accounting, as well as contribute to development and improvement work related to financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Ongoing accounting and bookkeeping in financial systems (e.g., accounts receivable and payable, general ledger, and cash and bank reconciliations)
• Budget work and participation in budget follow-up
• Production of financial reports and analysis of results and closures
• Reconciliations, troubleshooting, and internal controls
• Work with period-end and year-end closures
• Invoicing and participation in projects related to invoicing and fee controls

Qualifications:

• University education in economics or equivalent education and at least three (3) years of work experience with similar tasks. Alternatively, high school or equivalent education in the relevant field and five (5) years of work experience as an accounting economist
• Good knowledge of MS Office or equivalent, especially Excel
• Experience in governmental accounting
• Good understanding of the supplier flow - important to have the correct due dates, especially when disbursing funds that are transferred
• Customer invoicing based on established orders, quality-assured and invoiced
• Good understanding of the re-accounting of paid supplier invoices, customer payments, and various other payments such as grants
• Ability to communicate fluently in speech and writing

• Experience working with the financial system Proceedo

Scope and start date

Full-time, consulting assignment until 2026-09-10. Start 2026-03-11.
