Your future responsibilities

As an insurance company, we pay compensation to our customers when any form of damage has occurred. In some cases, another party is responsible for the damage, and this is where the claims lawyer comes into play. You will work on requesting damages from the party responsible for the harm. This involves many contacts with involved parties, claims adjusters, and specialists. You will handle cases and negotiate on behalf of both LF Uppsala and other regional insurance companies. The opposing party is usually another insurance company representing a business that caused the damage.

By actively working with claims, we reduce our and our customers' damage costs – benefiting all our policyholders. The focus of the work lies in construction and consumer law, but you will often encounter cases that span the entire area of tort law. The work offers both the opportunity to specialize and to continuously develop – even for those with extensive experience.

In this role, you will have many contacts with our 23 regional insurance companies. The position includes training other regional companies in claims management. The work can be likened to a consulting role in the cases you handle for the other regional insurance companies.

The position is a permanent employment that begins with a probationary period. You will work in our beautiful office premises centrally located in Uppsala at Muningatan 1. For those who are well settled, there is some opportunity for remote work.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is forward-thinking, social, and skilled at professionally and objectively engaging with different personalities. You are driven by achieving goals and plan and execute your work in a structured manner. Naturally, you recognize yourself in our values: business-oriented, action-oriented, and engaged. To reach a sustainable agreement with the opposing party, you need to have your legal arguments in place and diligently work to advance your cases.

You have a law degree, good foundational legal knowledge, and at least a few years of experience in legal research work. For example, you may have worked at a law firm or government agency. You are adept at interpreting laws, contracts, and terms and preferably have negotiation experience.

If you have experience in liability claims handling, damage assessments, claims management, or other insurance law work, it is a plus.
