The mission of the social psychiatry employment unit is to provide meaningful employment with a focus on recovery.

The unit consists of three operations. At the Work Center, individualized meaningful employment is offered in a learning environment. At Framsteget, there is an opportunity for internships and volunteer work, and in IPS, support is provided for work and studies.

You will be part of the team at the Work Center, but you will lead your own group in the unit's textile workshop. Other groups include café, kitchen, media, carpentry/gardening, and Framsteget. Additionally, we offer wellness and user-led groups.

Here you will meet a dedicated team of colleagues who together create a creative work environment where you have great opportunities to influence and develop the operations. You will also receive guidance in a recovery-oriented approach.

Job Responsibilities

You will mentor users with mental disabilities in their daily activities in the textile workshop at the Work Center. We receive orders from both external and internal customers. Examples of orders can range from altering and repairing pants, sewing curtains, to reupholstering furniture. Products for the Work Center's store are also manufactured. You will collaborate with other groups in the organization on certain projects, such as the carpentry group. Your main task is to mentor and support users in their work and provide them with opportunities for learning and recovery through meaningful employment.

We are looking for someone who

We believe that you are empathetic and see each individual while also being able to lead the work in a textile workshop. You have the ability to help others grow, possess excellent collaboration skills, and find it easy to build relationships. You enjoy working independently while also being able to see your part in a larger context. Flexibility and a strong sense of service are also important factors in the job.

You have a YH degree with a focus on social psychiatry, social pedagogy, or another education that the employer finds equivalent, along with a passionate interest in sewing and experience working with textiles. You may also be a textile and woodwork teacher or similar with a strong interest in people and experience in mentoring others. You have experience working with people with mental disabilities. If you have training in recovery-oriented approaches and Motivational Interviewing (MI), that is an advantage.

The assignment includes documentation and other administrative tasks, so you need to have good computer skills and proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. If you have experience documenting in Lifecare, that is an advantage. We also prefer that you have a driver's license.
