Job Responsibilities

As a summer intern in financial assistance, you will provide guidance and support based on citizens' needs, related to the goal of self-sufficiency. You will assess the right to financial assistance through meetings with clients and handle applications according to the Social Services Act.

Our goal is to conduct qualified investigations characterized by good treatment, well-founded decisions, and high legal security. It is a fun job with various assignments and many contacts that provide a great variety of tasks every day. Working with us this summer will give you a good insight into what social work and public authority entail.

The work requires a relatively high degree of independence within legislation, guidelines, and practices, and you need to be able to handle unforeseen situations. As an employee with us this summer, you will therefore be offered a structured introduction, internal case guidance, and support from the section's senior social worker.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has completed a degree in social work or is currently enrolled in a social work program, with at least 120 credits, where you have completed the legal courses with passing grades, including social law. The job involves a lot of documentation as well as written and verbal communication, which requires you to be well-articulated in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have ongoing or completed an internship semester within the social work program. We also appreciate if you have experience in social work, experience working within social services, and experience in administrative work.

• Is service-oriented: confident, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. You have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others. It is important to meet people with dignity and quality despite a fast pace with high demands for documentation and legal security.
• Is structured: organizes and prioritizes activities effectively and sets and meets deadlines. You are meticulous and well aware of goals and quality standards and are keen to live up to them.
• Has good collaboration skills: easily builds trusting relationships, is a good listener, and resolves conflicts constructively.
• Is flexible: in the job, situations often arise that cannot be handled routinely, and as an employee, you must adapt to changing circumstances. Sometimes you must quickly change your perspective and working methods. We want you to see opportunities in such changes!
• Is confident and stable: you are composed, stable, and controlled in more challenging situations. You prioritize and focus on the most important tasks at hand, even under higher workloads, and can maintain a realistic perspective.

In a potential interview, you and the section manager will discuss when the organization needs summer interns and what your availability looks like during the summer period, June 9–August 22.

Interviews will be held in week 10 and will take place digitally. Notifications about whether you will proceed to an interview will be sent during week 9.
