Control Engineer at Vattenfall Värme

This is an opportunity for you who want to grow into a technically broad and important role, work with real problem-solving, and be part of securing the heat supply for thousands of households in Sweden. We are looking for someone who is curious, interested in technology, and wants to build their skills alongside experienced colleagues in a stable and forward-looking company. At Vattenfall Värme, you will become part of a tight-knit team where you receive support and coaching, where your development is a priority, and where you will work on exciting and varied tasks. We look forward to your application!

ABOUT THE POSITION

Vattenfall Värme conducts active and long-term environmental work to create a sustainable and developable district heating operation with a strong social responsibility and low environmental impact. As one of Sweden's leading district heating suppliers, they deliver district heating, district cooling, and steam to industries, property owners, and residential customers in 13 municipalities across Sweden. The main fuel used in Vattenfall's facilities in Uppsala is household and industrial waste. Significant investments are being made to ensure that production is completely carbon neutral by 2030.

As the business develops, Vattenfall Värme is now looking for a Control Engineer for the control and maintenance team. The team works with the operation and maintenance of Vattenfall's facilities and is responsible for ensuring that pressure-bearing systems, alarms, welds, and air objects function as they should. You will work closely with Alexander, a senior control engineer, and gradually learn the role through practical work, guidance, and support from the team. The tasks are varied and technically challenging, including everything from monitoring operational status and alarms, risk analyses and inspections, to planned revisions, handling unplanned outages, and diagnosing the status of the facilities. You will document your work, be out in production, evaluate consequential damages, lead resources as needed, and suggest actions. The role also involves contributing as a technical expert in projects, procurements, and evaluations of suppliers, as well as answering technical questions regarding lifting and pressure-bearing devices from colleagues.

The team consists of four people responsible for different parts of the facilities, such as alarms, pressure, welding, and air objects. There is an open and unpretentious climate with a strong team spirit where colleagues help each other, share knowledge, and support one another. There is always someone to ask if you need guidance, and the team works closely together to ensure that the operation runs smoothly and safely. Your introduction will begin by shadowing Alexander, and you will also have a buddy who shows general processes. Training is planned continuously to give you a good foundation to quickly get into the work and develop in the role.

This is a consulting assignment, which means you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant at Vattenfall Värme. The assignment will be full-time and long-term. There are very good chances for a permanent position, provided that all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.

You are offered

  • A close-knit and unpretentious team with strong knowledge sharing and good collaboration
  • The opportunity to grow and develop in a long-term role with clear guidance and mentorship
  • The chance to be part of an exciting journey where Vattenfall develops methods, working methods, and technology for the future of district heating
