Do you want to be part of a wonderful team and contribute to work for healthier animals? Vidilab is now looking for careful and efficient individuals for seasonal work as preparation staff during peak season.

About the role As preparation staff, you will be responsible for preparing samples for reading. The work is important to ensure that our analyses can be carried out quickly and accurately. The role suits you who are meticulous, stress-resistant, and enjoy working at a fast pace. We will teach you everything you need to know to succeed in the role – no previous laboratory experience is required!

Your main responsibilities

  • Label and sort samples

  • Weigh feces, add liquid, mix, and strain

  • Fill McMaster chambers with a pipette

  • Ensure samples are ready for reading

  • Other methods as needed

  • Contribute to smooth workflow by supporting colleagues during varying workloads

Who are you? We are looking for someone who is positive, service-oriented, and flexible. You are meticulous and understand that all steps in the preparation of samples are important and must be done correctly. You also have the endurance and ability to work with repetitive tasks without losing focus. During peak season, the pace is high, so to thrive in the role, you must enjoy speed and be stress-resistant while also being able to maintain focus, as tasks like filling McMaster chambers require a certain finesse. You also enjoy varying working hours and are someone who steps up when needed.

We would like you to have:

  • At least a high school education, preferably in a relevant field (e.g., natural sciences, biology)

  • At least 18 years old

  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, where you speak and write fluently

  • Experience from a service job (meritorious)

  • Driver's license B (meritorious)

  • Interest and experience with animals (meritorious)

Good to know

  • The position is a needs-based employment starting in April for our peak season (April–June)

  • Opportunity for work also during our autumn season in September–October

  • We have a collective agreement according to IKEM

  • The position is a needs-based employment and hours during the period may vary

  • Working hours are usually 08:00–16:30, with a 30-minute lunch. Half days/shorter workdays may occur depending on the needs of the business

  • Location; Vidilab, Kvartsgatan 1, Enköping
