About the Workplace

The Planning and Development Department is tasked with enabling sustainable development of Håbo's environments.

The department is responsible for strategic urban planning through comprehensive planning and strategies within environment and climate, geodata, and detailed planning. It is one of two departments within the Technical and Community Building Administration in Håbo Municipality.

Currently, several interesting planning projects are underway in the municipality, both large and small. We are therefore looking for an experienced planning architect who wants to contribute to the important work of creating good living environments and value for the people in Håbo.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of planning architect with us, you will have significant responsibility to independently lead and develop primarily detailed plans. You will ensure progress according to the project's timeline and budget and work in accordance with the municipality's overarching goals and guiding documents. By mastering the craft and making clear trade-offs, you will also ensure the technical and economic feasibility of the plans.

The assignment also involves leading and coordinating consultants' work, facilitating dialogue with residents and elected officials, and preparing and presenting cases for political decision-making. The tasks are varied, and you will also respond to consultations, surveys, and assess various types of inquiries. You are also expected to participate in the department's development work and in assignments related to strategic planning.

You will carry out your assignments in close and trusting collaboration with the municipality's other administrations and stakeholders. Therefore, you have a good ability to collaborate and assess appropriate approaches in various planning situations, and see opportunities for developing our working methods. We work with continuous improvements and are aware that circumstances can change, so you also need to have a flexible approach and the ability to see opportunities in challenges.

Your main responsibilities include:

Driving detailed planning assignments through the entire process and being responsible for the craft surrounding the plan as a project
Assessing planning decisions, investigations, and preliminary planning in early stages
Handling cases and preparing political decisions
Giving presentations for both larger and smaller groups
Communicating our mission, proposals, and decisions in both speech and writing

You are also expected to participate and provide knowledge support in:

Procurement of investigations and planning projects
Strategic planning, such as comprehensive planning and strategies for sustainability, natural and cultural environments
Development of the department's working methods and related areas of responsibility, such as development cases

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an education as a planning architect or other education that the employer deems equivalent and relevant. You have at least three years of experience in independently driving planning projects and handling detailed plans as a planning architect. The position requires that you are well-versed in the Planning and Building Act and the Environmental Code and its application.

We would like you to have solid experience in physical planning and in driving both more and less complex urban development projects. It is an advantage if you have experience working in a municipal organization and if you have worked in the systems Focus Detailed Plan and Plandirekt.

As a person, you enjoy working independently while also having a good ability to collaborate with actors and colleagues from different professions, interests, and backgrounds. You are committed to your work and drive your projects forward in a structured manner. You have a good ability to see what needs to be done and in what order. You are also creative and pedagogical in your communication and reasoning.
