In the role of laboratory engineer in QC, you will have a varied and laboratory-based job where you directly contribute to the quality assurance of diagnostic tests used to diagnose allergies, asthma, and autoimmune diseases. You will work practically to prepare and conduct analyses, pipette, handle human samples, and initiate runs on advanced laboratory instruments. An important part of your daily work is to evaluate results, compare them against specifications, and document assessments to ensure that the analyses meet both internal quality requirements and regulatory standards. Additionally, you will participate in the laboratory's operational routines, such as equipment maintenance and monitoring quality controls that are fundamental for the tests to be reliable in clinical contexts.

You will be part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's QC team, which consists of about 20 people divided into two groups, one focusing on allergy tests and one oriented towards multiplex and autoimmune diagnostics. The team is characterized by an open, supportive climate where everyone works closely together and shares knowledge.

This is a consulting assignment, which means you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The assignment will be full-time and is expected to last at least until the turn of the year. There may be an opportunity for extension, provided that there is room for it and that all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

  • Conduct QC analyses of allergy products according to established methods and document and report results
  • Prepare and handle human samples, work with pipetting, and initiate analyses on laboratory instruments
  • Review and evaluate analysis results by comparing them against applicable specifications and manage and document any deviations
  • Contribute to the daily operation of the laboratory, for example, by performing simple maintenance and keeping equipment organized
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the QC team to ensure high quality and an efficient working method

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

  • Has a post-secondary education in Life Science, e.g., biotechnology, chemistry, or similar
  • Has experience of laboratory work from studies or previous employment
  • Is accustomed to pipetting and handling samples
  • Is very comfortable with Swedish and English in both spoken and written form as it is required to perform the work

It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have experience in QC work.
