About the role
We are looking for an engaged and technically driven systems engineer who wants to develop advanced subsystems for small satellites, focusing on electronics and software.
Your job will be to transform high-level mission objectives into smart and reliable system designs. You ensure that our satellites function as a cohesive whole by balancing technology and performance against safety, budget, and timelines.
The role suits you if you are analytical and have a genuine interest in space technology. Whether you are an experienced space engineer or have another relevant background and want to take the next step, you will have the chance to shape the next generation of satellite systems.
Your main responsibilities
- Lead the technology: You act as the technical hub in product development and coordinate various engineering areas.
- From concept to reality: You develop concepts, conduct technical studies, and define traceable requirements throughout the project.
- Finding the balance: You drive a structured approach where you constantly weigh system performance against risks, costs, and timelines.
- Interfaces & Communication: You manage how our products communicate with the customer's satellite and keep the customer updated on the technical status.
- Testing & Operations: You support the building and testing of hardware (from prototype to finished product) and develop strategies for how the satellite will be controlled in space.
- Business support: You contribute with technical analyses and solutions in our proposals to help the company grow.
- Developing work methods: You help improve how we work with system design and maintain relationships with our key stakeholders.
Who are you?
- Education: Relevant university degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: You are used to working in complex projects with many moving parts, preferably within the space industry or other advanced technology.
- Technical breadth: You have knowledge in electronics and/or software.
- Collaboration: You enjoy working cross-functionally and are good at communicating technical details clearly.
- Structure: You can plan and prioritize your work even when the pace is high and deadlines are approaching.
- Language & IT: You write and speak fluent English, have good IT skills, and are an EU citizen.
- Production: You have knowledge of how to design products to be easy to manufacture and test (DfM/DfT).
It is a plus if you have:
- Familiarity with space standards (such as ECSS).
- Experience with tools like IBM DOORS, SolidWorks, MATLAB, or Python.
- Experience in satellite operations (Mission Operations) or model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Previous work in small or medium-sized technology companies.
