In Sweden, Vattenfall Värme delivers district heating, district cooling, and steam to industries, property owners, and residential customers in fifteen municipalities. We provide sustainable heating to approximately 200,000 Swedish households and heat, cooling, and steam to industrial customers. We actively work according to a clear plan to reduce fossil emissions in our cities, our own heat production, and from our suppliers, with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040. We are particularly proud that our main product, district heating, plays such an important role in the energy transition and the new circular society.

About the Role

Do you want to lead a strategically important function while contributing to the transition to a fossil-free society? Vattenfall Värme is now looking for an engaged and experienced leader who wants to help shape the future of sustainable heat supply.

As the Head of Asset Management, you will have overall responsibility for developing and maximizing the value of our assets from a long-term, sustainable, and business-oriented perspective. The role is both strategic and operational and has a significant impact on Vattenfall Värme's future competitiveness.

You will lead a team of six employees and be responsible for steering the work towards qualitative and quantitative goals. The Asset Management function works across the entire value chain – from fuel to customer delivery – and plays a central role in ensuring cost-effective, robust, and future-proofed asset solutions.

You will be part of the Asset Development management team and collaborate closely with other managers and key functions in the organization.

In this role, you will among other things:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the team while creating an inclusive and sustainable work environment
  • Be responsible for long-term planning, strategic priorities, and follow-up of operations
  • Drive strategic asset development and portfolio management based on technical, economic, and regulatory perspectives

Requirements

  • Have an engineering degree or equivalent education, preferably in industrial economics, energy, or similar
  • Have experience in managing and creating value from large assets in energy, process, or industrial operations
  • Have solid experience in strategic asset development, portfolio management, and change management
  • Have good economic understanding and experience in building long-term profitability
  • Have documented leadership experience and are accustomed to leading teams and influencing in complex organizations
