Are you studying to become a Biomedical Analyst or equivalent and have experience in microscopy? Do you want to be part of an engaged team and contribute to work for healthier animals? Vidilab is now looking for meticulous and efficient individuals for seasonal work as reading staff during peak season.

About the role

As reading staff, you will be responsible for analyzing samples to investigate the presence of parasites, primarily in horses. The work is important to ensure that our customers receive answers and advice on necessary treatment quickly and accurately. The role suits you if you are meticulous, stress-resistant, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We will teach you our working methods and procedures on-site so that you get the information you need to succeed in the role!

Your main responsibilities

  • Microscopy

  • Reading horse samples in McMaster chambers

  • Reading horse cultures

  • Other methods as needed

  • Contribute to smooth workflow by supporting colleagues during varying workloads

Who are you? We are looking for someone who is positive, service-oriented, and flexible. You are meticulous and understand that attention to detail in reading is of utmost priority. You also have endurance and the ability to work with repetitive tasks without losing focus. During peak season, the pace is high, so to thrive in the role, you must enjoy speed and be stress-resistant while also being able to maintain concentration, as reading under the microscope requires care and precision. You also enjoy varying working hours and are someone who steps up when needed.

We would like you to have:

  • Ongoing or completed university education/college education as BMA or equivalent

  • Experience in microscopy

  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, where you speak and write fluently

  • Driver's license B (meritorious)

  • Interest and experience with animals (meritorious)

Good to know

  • The position is a needs-based employment starting in April for our peak season (April–June)

  • Opportunity for work during our autumn season in September–October

  • We have a collective agreement according to IKEM

  • The position is a needs-based employment and hours during the period may vary

  • Working hours are usually 08.00–16.30, with a 30-minute lunch. Half-days/shorter working days occur based on the needs of the business.
