Your New Job

We are looking for a substitute for one of our art teachers during parental leave.

You have broad and deep expertise in visual arts and design as well as high pedagogical competence where you can meet both different ages and varying group sizes. The role includes teaching in the Cultural School's art courses, which primarily take place in the afternoons and evenings, as well as within the Cultural School's basic course. In the basic course, the Cultural School's educators meet all second-grade students in the municipality each academic year. In addition to the mentioned parts, collaboration with subject colleagues and the rest of the staff in various projects and outreach activities is included. There may be some weekend work on certain occasions.

You see each student, and through your knowledge and pedagogical ability, you provide challenges that contribute to developing and preparing the student for what may become a strong interest, a hobby, or even a profession in the future.

Our cultural school has about 55 creative employees who work with great commitment to provide children and youth with opportunities to develop through teaching, experiences, and their own creation within music, dance, visual arts, film, and theater. We also conduct outreach and open activities to reach even more children and youth.

We teach primarily in our core activities from early afternoon to evening but also with so-called basic courses and cultural ladders, both of which mean that we offer entire grades within primary and adapted primary schools various cultural activities.

The Cultural School has its own premises in both Jönköping and Huskvarna.

Your Competence

We are looking for a competent educator with a university degree or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.

You have experience teaching visual arts and design for children and youth. You have good pedagogical skills and a clear desire to help children and youth develop through cultural practices. In your role, you start from the student's interest and inspire and adapt teaching to each unique context. You are creative, responsible, flexible, and well-organized, you work independently and also find it easy to collaborate with others. You understand the importance of acting and expressing yourself professionally towards students, guardians, colleagues, and partners. You have good knowledge of digital tools, both pedagogical and administrative, and actively use them in your teaching. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

As the job involves traveling to different schools in the municipality on certain days of the week, we prefer that you have a B driver's license and access to your own car.

The position is a parental substitute with some possibility of extension.
