Östra School is Falu Municipality's most central F-6 school and is expecting around 270 students for the school year 26/27. The school is located in the heart of Falun, close to the Lugnet area, and has a very nice schoolyard. Job Responsibilities

In the role of special educator/special teacher (with the possibility of a lead teacher assignment), you are expected to continue planning and teaching students (both individually and in groups) while also being involved in developing teaching and subject knowledge among colleagues through guidance. You do this because you have a strong interest in developing your own teaching while also having a talent for sharing your knowledge with colleagues. As a special educator/special teacher, you are expected to drive the processes highlighted in the school's leadership declaration and those identified by research as successful working methods for developing teaching and thus striving towards the school's goals.

Examples of job responsibilities, aside from your teaching, may include leading open seminars on teaching, initiating and leading pedagogical discussions and projects, supporting/coaching other teachers, and being involved in the introduction of newly hired teachers, being primarily responsible for a subject or focus area, and thus monitoring and conveying relevant research within the subject/area. Whenever the administration initiates network meetings, participate in these together with others, and among other things, systematize lessons learned from this work and communicate development needs with the school management, student-centered work to develop teaching and increase goal fulfillment. As a special educator/special teacher, you will also collaborate with class teachers/mentors as well as with Östra School's leisure educators. Employment as a special educator/special teacher (with the possibility of a lead teacher assignment) is based on the school's goals as clarified in the leadership declaration; 100% Safe Students and 100% Goal Fulfillment for students in grade 6.

Qualifications

The following is required for the role:

• Special teacher or special educator education
• Several years of experience in teaching within the school system
• Previous experience and documented good ability to have worked on improving students' academic results and the development of teaching

Personal Qualities

We believe that you are a positive and stable person who has experience working with teaching and leading collegial learning. You have the ability to stay one step ahead of both students and colleagues and are flexible and solution-focused. Since the position involves close contact with teachers, guardians, students, and management, great importance is also placed on good communication and collaboration skills. You have an adaptability to meet the changing needs of students as a whole.

Desirable Qualifications

• Previous work as a Special Educator or Special Teacher or equivalent assignment
• Experience working with students with special needs or in an inclusive teaching environment
• Experience and ability to provide differentiated instruction and adapt it to individual needs and learning styles
• Experience teaching Swedish F-6

Employment Conditions

The position is a permanent full-time employment as well as a vacation employment.

Start date: Earliest 2026-04-01 or by agreement.
