Description

The municipal music school of Rättvik has been in existence since the school year 1956/57.

We offer instruction in dance, woodwinds, percussion, keyboard, brass, strings, and singing across many genres and in various ensembles. The music school will develop into a Culture School in 2026. The current step in the development into a culture school is to expand the activities to include drama. To make this possible, we are now seeking a drama educator who will create and develop the drama subject in harmony with the other activities in the culture school and within the Department of Education.

Job Description

To build and develop our newly started culture school, we are now looking for an engaged and creative drama educator. Here you will have the chance to be part of an exciting journey where you can leave your mark on drama education and create an inspiring and inclusive environment for both children and youth. In the role of drama educator, you will get to create and build the drama subject from the ground up. There are good opportunities to collaborate in a structured way with preschools, primary schools, high schools, as well as adapted primary and high schools, and of course with other branches of the Culture School. You have great opportunities to create an operation where your unique skills can be fully utilized.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has an education in drama pedagogy or another education, artistic or pedagogical, that the employer considers equivalent.
• Has a burning interest in drama and pedagogy.
• Has the ability to create a safe, creative, and developing environment for students of all ages and levels.
• Is flexible and can adapt teaching to the students' needs and conditions.
• Is responsible, communicative, and has an easy time collaborating with both colleagues and students.

Relevant work experience and previous experience working with children and youth are also meritorious. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
