Gylle School is Dalarna's largest primary school, a F–9 unit with approximately 900 students. The school is located just south of Borlänge city center with good transport links and a wide catchment area that creates diversity and rich opportunities for learning.

Since April 2025, Gylle School F–6 has fully completed, new, modern, and well-equipped learning environments – including a gym and cafeteria – designed to support varied and future-oriented teaching. Together with our dedicated and qualified staff group, organized into strong grade teams, these facilities create a successful recipe where professionalism, student focus, and good structures meet.

In the F–6 unit, about 80 employees work in various roles, all contributing to a safe and learning environment. We are in an exciting development phase focusing on strengthening students' digital competence while also valuing our profile as a reading school to increase goal achievement in all subjects.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for a teacher for the after-school program for grades F-6, distributed in different teams. In the upcoming school year, we will continue to invest in developing the after-school program. We want you to join us as a creative, driven, and inspiring educator.

We work to harness students' interests and create situations where students can challenge their learning, contributing to stimulating learning environments. Significant elements of the program include play, learning, movement, creative work, and social development.

The assignment is directed towards the school's and after-school program's activities based on students' needs.

In the role of teacher for the after-school program, you will work together with your colleagues in the after-school program with the goal of creating a meaningful leisure time for students. Together, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and documenting the educational work, thereby contributing to the realization of the after-school program's curriculum goals and intentions in the activities. You are also expected to participate in the school's other quality work.

During the school day, you work closely with the mentor in the class and serve as an educational and social support for students. You conduct some lessons in full or half classes, for example during practical learning and in case of absence. You take great responsibility for the social interaction in corridors, during transitions, and during breaks.

Recreational activities and daily movement are important parts of students' learning and well-being and should therefore be planned, organized, and followed up as an integrated part of the school's mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic requirements for the position:

• We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher for the after-school program/after-school educator.
• Very good oral and written skills in Swedish.

Personal qualities:

• Responsible, secure, and creates good relationships with both children and adults.
• Good communicative ability, both orally and in writing, and adapts your way of communicating based on the situation.
• Positive attitude based on the idea that all children are everyone's responsibility.
• Initiative and willingness to be part of driving the school's and after-school program's development forward.
• Good understanding of how children absorb knowledge and can flexibly adapt yourself and your plans based on students' needs.
• Good ability to work independently when the assignment requires it.

Meritorious qualifications:

• Post-secondary education with a focus on educational work, such as childcare or after-school leader training.
• Previous experience in the teaching profession, for example in preschool, preschool class, primary school, or after-school program.
• Familiar with the after-school program's and school's governing documents and plans the activities based on these.
• Experience in and conducts language development work in all activities, both in school and in the after-school program. This includes learning environments that support vocabulary, concept development, and communication in both social and educational contexts.
• Previous experience in outdoor education as well as training in pedagogy and creative/aesthetic learning processes such as music, art, drama, and dance.
