Stiernhööksgymnasiet is beautifully located by the shores of Lake Siljan and is a high school with approximately 500 students. It is a unique high school with proud traditions and a student body from all over Sweden. The school has a documented high goal fulfillment with very good educational quality. The school offers programs in construction and civil engineering, economics, electrical and energy, natural resource management (with specializations in animal care, equestrian studies, and agriculture), natural sciences, social sciences, as well as four introductory programs. The school also has adapted national programs for high schools; forestry, land and animal, as well as property, construction, and building. Additionally, the school offers national sports education (NIU) in equestrian sports and bandy, as well as local sports education (LIU) in various sports. The school has a student dormitory with over 130 accommodation places, and a food production program as part of the agricultural education. Parts of the production are served in the municipality's kitchens. Thus, Rättvik has Sweden's most locally produced school meals.

Job Description

The position includes working as a teacher in both college preparatory and vocational programs.

You will be part of a work team and subject team in the subjects you teach. You will perform mentoring duties. The position may also include teaching within the framework of the school's study sessions, handling assessments, and possibly retakes and other tasks recognized in the profession.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed upper secondary school teacher in mathematics and physics, preferably with experience in teaching business economics. We place particular emphasis on the ability to build constructive relationships with students in a way that promotes learning. Didactic knowledge and functional leadership in the classroom are central qualities we seek. It is also important to have an interest in collegial learning both in subject and work teams, as the high school is in the midst of a change process related to the subject grading reform.
