JOB DESCRIPTION
You will work as a teaching assistant in the lower grades, where your task is to support students during school hours and provide the conditions for the student to succeed socially and in their learning.
The position can be combined with other daily substitutes at the school. You will also work part of your position in one of the school’s after-school care departments. You will have support from other staff at the school. You will also receive continuous guidance from special teachers/special educators.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic requirements for the position:
- Experience working in a school.
- Very good oral and written skills in Swedish.
Personal qualities:
We are looking for a person with a well-developed ability to create good and sustainable relationships. You have good initiative and drive, can work independently, and enjoy working well with others. You have good communication skills. You are calm and secure in yourself and have the ability to work individually with students. You enjoy developing and helping people and have great social competence, as it involves communication with students, guardians, and staff both within and outside the school’s operations. You can create trust, safety, and confidence. You enjoy being outdoors and can handle physical activities, as well as have the ability to move quickly from one point to another.
You need to be flexible and have a solution-focused personality, which is a prerequisite for succeeding in this role. You need to be calm and secure in situations where the student may become verbally and physically aggressive.
Desirable qualifications:
- Training in low-arousal approaches and storytelling/comic conversations.
- Experience working with students with special needs within NPF.
- Good oral and written skills in English.
OTHER
In connection with the interview, you as a candidate need to provide proof of citizenship in Sweden/EU/EES or a valid work residence permit.
