Job Opening: University Lecturer Focused on Clinical Training
Dalarna University conducts research and education and has extensive collaboration with municipal activities in the region and with healthcare in Region Dalarna. Through strong research and attractive education, we attract researchers and students from all over the world.
At the Department of Health and Welfare (IHOV), education is offered at both undergraduate and advanced levels. The programs offered include the nursing program with three specialist training programs, midwifery program, social work education, teacher education with a focus on natural sciences, as well as sports and health. Additionally, a master's program in physiotherapy and global health is offered. The department has the right to examine at the undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels.
The Clinical Training Center (KTC) has a central role within IHOV and is located on the Falun campus. The unit offers practical training for both students and healthcare personnel. With the help of simulators, mannequins, and experienced staff, a realistic and safe environment is created for skills training, professional development, and lifelong learning. KTC contributes to high patient safety and safety for staff and students by enabling practical education, continuing education, and continuous professional development. Examinations are conducted both individually and in teams.
We are looking for someone who wants to help develop our KTC and who has obtained a doctoral degree. You will strengthen our innovation efforts and contribute to developing the interaction between research and education. The role gives you the opportunity to combine research, education, and clinical practice, where you drive the work for high-quality healthcare education through pedagogical development, technical innovation, and research results – benefiting both students and patients.

Eligibility
According to Dalarna University's employment regulations, the eligible candidate for the position of university lecturer with a doctoral degree is one who:
- Has obtained a doctoral degree
- Has demonstrated pedagogical skills
Requirements
The following is required for this position:
- Doctoral degree in nursing/care science
- Nurse and specialist trained
- Experience working with innovation
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Meritorious
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience teaching at a university and/or college level and experience leading others.
- Documented experience in distance education
- Documented experience in clinical teaching, such as skills training related to the nursing profession
Since a large part of the work is done in teams and in collaboration with the surrounding community, we consider it important that you have good collaboration, initiative, and communication skills, a high degree of independence, and are responsible. We therefore place great emphasis on personal qualities.
For employment, a higher education pedagogical training corresponding to 15 credits is required or that equivalent knowledge has been acquired in another way.
As we place great importance on pedagogical skills, the applicant who does not already have qualifying higher education pedagogical training is expected to acquire this competence within two years from the start of employment.
Assessment Criteria
The university will consider the candidate who, after a qualitative overall assessment of scientific and pedagogical skills, as well as other qualifications relevant to the position, is deemed to have the best conditions to fulfill the tasks of the position. Employment Information
Employment type: fixed-term employment for 1 year, 20% position, with possible extension. Place of employment: Falun.
