About Åvestadalskolan

Åvestadalskolan 7-9 is part of the municipality's southern school area and is located in Krylbo, close to beautiful nature and outdoor areas. The school has a wide catchment area where the school's more than 360 students reflect the society we live in and represent the diversity that is our common future - A school in the middle of the world. The school conducts active inclusion and value foundation work both preventively and reactively. Åvestadalskolan has a high teacher qualification rate, good collegial learning, and a well-functioning student health team. The school has an established positive school culture with good collaboration within both subject teams and working groups with the student's learning at the center. The school has undergone extensive renovation of both indoor and outdoor environments, and we are proud to work in new, fresh premises adapted to today's requirements for a good school environment.

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching for the subjects included in the position, both individually and in collaboration with colleagues. This position primarily involves teaching physics and technology. You adapt the teaching based on the student's needs, conditions, and previous experiences. You systematically follow the students' knowledge development, document it, and keep guardians informed about the student's progress.

You are responsible for having a good overview and care for students' school days and social situations in collaboration with colleagues, guardians, authorities, and other contacts around the student. In consultation with the student health team, you work to ensure that relevant measures are implemented for students in need of additional support. Other tasks that may occur within the position include mentoring assignments, supervising breaks, ordering teaching materials, and providing educational lunches.

We are looking for you

We place great emphasis on pedagogical leadership in the classroom and are looking for an engaged, clear leader with an approach that includes clarity combined with attentiveness. You are secure, stable, and have the ability to create good relationships with students where they feel seen, acknowledged, and believed in. You also have a good ability to build trusting relationships with guardians. Experience in pedagogical situations is an asset. You have good knowledge of the national governing documents and the ability to adapt teaching based on the group's and individual's needs to provide good conditions for students' knowledge development. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively and take the initiative to collaborate with others. You have a professional approach, and your work is permeated by well-founded ethical values.

Other Qualifications:

• A teaching license in the subjects included in the position is required for a permanent position.
• Experience in teaching is an advantage.
• You need to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
• You have sufficient IT skills to handle the systems and digital tools required for the assignment.
