At Jakobsgårdskolan, we actively work for participation, good working environment, equality, and diversity. We are expanding and currently have about 140 students from grades 1 to 9 and an after-school program with about 40 students. We are organized into seven units. Teachers and classroom assistants work in teams around each student group with an affiliation in a larger work team. We also have a student health team with a school nurse, special teachers, special educators, and a counselor.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Jakobgårdskolan is looking for a competent and committed special educator for grades 1-9 who wants to help develop our adapted primary school and with the task of creating an overview of students who are included in other primary schools in the municipality. You must have a teaching license for primary school. You will support the reception process for students with the right to attend the adapted primary school. You need to be well acquainted with both the primary school and the adapted primary school's various curricula.

You will work together with teams to support students' development, individualize teaching based on a special educational approach.
You will be part of the local student health team and be an important link between teams, central student health work in the municipality together with the principal.
We want you to be particularly interested in working with students in need of special support.
You have worked with AAC and are familiar with TAKK and are motivated to learn more.
You have experience collaborating with guardians and other actors outside the school regarding students to create a holistic view of children's needs.
You see the opportunities in changes and can easily evaluate and integrate new information.
You are calm, stable, can maintain a realistic perspective, and focus on the right things.
You have the ability to understand someone else's perspective or situation without taking over the person's feelings.
You demonstrate leadership by leading, motivating, and empowering others to effectively achieve common goals. You coordinate the group and become a reference point for others while creating engagement and participation. We want you to have the ability to inspire joy in work and you easily get others on board. You should also have a good ability to make decisions and take responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic requirements for the position:
- Licensed primary school teacher with a special education degree
- Extensive experience working in a guiding role in special education issues, at the organizational, group, and individual levels
- Good knowledge of current governing documents and compensatory aids
- Very good oral and written skills in Swedish
Personal qualities.
We are looking for someone who is a good team player, works in a structured manner, is flexible, and has good collaboration skills. You see each individual student and are attentive to what the children want to convey, creating relationships with both students and colleagues as well as guardians. You have a positive attitude in challenging situations, remain calm, and find solutions. You communicate clearly and possess a good empathetic ability where you create engagement and participate in children's play and development. You have a big heart for the student category that has the right to the adapted primary school.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working with children and students in both orientations within adapted primary school
- Experience in a multicultural learning environment
- Knowledge of sign language support for spoken language and are curious and interested in working with digital tools
