Unit's Mission

The Employment Market Initiatives unit is one of five units within the Employment Market Department at the Swedish Public Employment Service's headquarters. The unit's work aims to strengthen and support job seekers to shorten their time in unemployment. We create conditions for the Employment Service to identify job seekers' needs for support, prevent and break long-term unemployment, and ensure equal service. The unit has cross-agency responsibility for framework programs, programs for job seekers, and their content. This includes the mission for establishment and foreign-born individuals as well as youth. The unit is responsible for collaborating with actors within the missions and coordinating sector responsibility in disability policy.

About the Position

The work is varied, both operational and strategic. You will have a central role in coordinating the unit's missions and need to be flexible as conditions and governance can affect the work at short notice. Your main tasks will include:

Monitoring and managing incoming and outgoing assignments and requests, as well as compiling and, if necessary, quality assuring the unit's materials, including referrals
Creating structures and being responsible for the unit's common forms for document management and supporting the unit manager in follow-up
Managing the decision-making order of managers, including quality assurance of decision-making and preparation materials
Being responsible for the coordination and planning of the unit's reporting and follow-up related to, for example, operational plans, appropriations assignments, risks, etc.
Being responsible for the unit's annual wheel and management's meeting structure and planning, as well as preparing, participating, and documenting management group meetings
Supporting the unit manager and management in communication, both internally and externally, including media contacts
Assisting in coordinating product area councils and similar forums, and ensuring that the operational plan and product area plan are operationalized
Representing the unit manager in forums if the unit manager is unavailable
Otherwise being responsible for and ensuring that the unit has a good structure and staff order
Together with other colleagues, developing the unit's governance and follow-up based on a trust-based governance philosophy

The position is a permanent full-time employment that may start with a six-month probationary period. The work location is Solna.

Basic Requirements

Academic education of at least 120 credits/180 ECTS with a legal, social science, or economic focus, or another focus that the employer deems relevant
Documented experience of leadership, through larger projects/assignment management, managerial positions, or in a coordinating role with result responsibility for the group's work
Current experience from qualified work in public administration
Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
Very good knowledge of the Office suite
Experience in leading and driving change work and/or operational development in public operations

You work goal- and result-oriented and have a very good ability to create structure in your and others' work. You communicate clearly and pedagogically, and show attentiveness and openness to other perspectives. You are responsible, self-driven, and have excellent collaboration skills. Furthermore, you have good analytical skills and can see the connection between the whole and the details.
