We are now looking for a Press Officer for the municipality.
About the role and examples of tasksThe unit's most important task is to ensure citizens' right to service, transparency, good accessibility, and to build trust in the municipality's operations through communication - but also to support the operations through internal communication. We are responsible for and coordinate the municipality's overall communication. In addition, we are responsible for the municipality's central communication channels such as the external website, intranet, social media, and printed materials. We provide strategic and operational support in business processes, assignments, and projects.
You are overall responsible for the municipality's press work. You plan, coordinate, and implement initiatives together with the operational managers at the various offices. You are the point of contact for the media and work for transparency and trustworthy communication. The assignment includes long-term strategic work and daily operational management. You conduct media training, support managers and employees in contact with the media, and can act as a spokesperson in media when needed. You work with media analysis and media monitoring tools to evaluate visibility in the media. An equally important task is to carry out operational communication efforts in press-related contexts. Producing text and images for internal and external channels, planning and following up on communication efforts.
The assignments vary between ongoing support and specific projects, and you will work over time with different offices and subject areas.
Your background, experience, and skillsYou have several years of experience working as a press officer in a larger municipality or another larger public authority where the pressure from the media is sometimes high.
You have relevant education, are a skilled writer, and are experienced in handling a wide range of press issues and crisis communication.
You have good knowledge of media logic and translate that understanding into strategic and operational support for our operations.
Ability to formulate clear messages and create understanding in complex contexts.
You have experience working in various communication channels and adapting messages to the target audience.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy collaborating with operations, their managers, and employees.
You will be employed by Jurek Talents. The position is 100% (full-time). The start date for the assignment is immediate, hopefully no later than 26-02-01 but at the latest 26-03-01 and lasts until 2026-12-31.
The introduction will be conducted on-site, and there is an opportunity for some remote work by agreement.
