The Assignment

As a Business Development Manager at Subway, you drive growth, profitability, and quality. You are the link between strategy and reality – from central goals to results in the restaurant. The focus is on business development that is reflected in sales, efficiency, and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement business strategies that increase revenue, margin, and market share.
• Support and challenge franchisees in commercial decisions, operations, and local marketing.
• Identify new business opportunities: openings, partnerships, campaigns, and local growth initiatives.
• Analyze sales data, customer behaviors, and operational metrics – translate insights into concrete actions.
• Ensure that brand, concept, and operational standards are adhered to and developed.
• Drive change related to new working methods, digital solutions, and more efficient processes.
• Work closely with marketing, operations, supply chain, and management to ensure cohesion and pace.

Mandate

• Influence business decisions at the franchisee level.
• Prioritize initiatives that provide quick and long-term business impact.
• Be a requirement setter – quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction are non-negotiable.

Profile

• Documented experience in business development, retail, franchise, or fast-growing consumer businesses.
• Strong commercial understanding – you know the numbers but act on them.
• Operationally minded strategist: thinks big but delivers in everyday life.
• Ability to build trust and drive change without formal managerial responsibility.
• Independent, action-oriented, and unpretentious.
• Fluent in Swedish or English.
