Service Officer at the Swedish State Service Center in Umeå
At the service office in Umeå, we are about 8 employees and are part of the Umeå office area. We work with a service-oriented approach where you and your colleagues take joint responsibility for your tasks and learning. We actively work with continuous improvements, and it is part of the role to contribute to the development of the organization.
Main Responsibilities
As a service officer, you provide quick and professional service by answering questions from individuals and businesses. A large part of your work involves guiding customers to use the collaborative authorities' e-services and to find information on websites. In your role, it is important that you listen actively, adapt your approach to the customer, and have a pedagogical attitude.
In your customer meetings, you will have support from the various authorities' IT systems. In addition to introduction and training, time is allocated each day to familiarize yourself with the information you need to stay updated on news and changes affecting the service office's operations. You may also be required to work at other service offices, which can sometimes happen at short notice.

Qualifications
You are driven by providing our customers with good service by identifying each customer's needs and providing answers or guidance. Since you work closely with customers, you must feel comfortable in direct meetings with customers from various backgrounds and abilities. In short, we are looking for someone who has a positive attitude and is quick to learn new knowledge.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree of at least 80 credits/120 ECTS or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience
- At least two years of experience in a service role within the last five years, where you have informed and guided customers in personal meetings.
Additionally, you should have the following skills:
- Quickly establish contact with others in an objective and professional manner
- Map the customer's needs by asking questions and listening actively
- Communicate orally and in writing in Swedish
- Communicate orally in English
- Adapt your working methods to the varying needs of customers
- Handle multiple customers simultaneously
- Contribute positively to the team's results and collaboration
It is also an advantage if you have:
- Experience working with face-to-face customer meetings within any of our collaborating authorities
Other Information
The position is a temporary contract at 100% until 2026-08-31. Start date is negotiable. We do not have the possibility for remote work. This position requires a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act.
