The work for regional development in the county is found within the regional development administration. The administration encompasses several areas, including public transport and infrastructure.

Region Västerbotten is the regional public transport authority in Västerbotten and is responsible for public transport in the county according to law (2010:1065). Region Västerbotten also has the overall responsibility for infrastructure planning in the county, with a mandate to develop the county's transport infrastructure.

The regional development administration is geographically located with offices in Umeå, Skellefteå, and Lycksele but works across the county.

Region Västerbotten also has an office located in Stockholm in collaboration with other northern regions. Monitoring and influence also occur internationally and towards the EU.

The placement for the position is at one of our offices in Lycksele, Skellefteå, or Umeå.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a coordinator, you create conditions for collaboration and contribute to new and developed knowledge in relevant areas. The role means that you will be an important part of the planning and development of the region's transport system.

We are looking for an engaged coordinator who wants to work with issues related to public transport and infrastructure. As a coordinator in public transport and infrastructure, you will, among other things:

• Participate in investigations and projects related to public transport and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive development forward.
• Contribute to strategic work on mobility and sustainable transport solutions.
• Use and analyze data for planning, preferably with the support of GIS.

The work as a coordinator can vary based on the initiatives you are involved in. Daily work includes being a resource to lead development forward in the areas of public transport and infrastructure. You need to be accustomed to working both independently and closely with others. The work with regional development is done in collaboration with both internal and external parties. Through conversations, consensus, cooperation, and collaboration, development towards set goals occurs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree in urban planning, other relevant education for the task, or a background that Region Västerbotten deems relevant for the position. You need to have an understanding of mobility issues and sustainable transport development. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of GIS and experience in project work.

You need to have experience in relevant tasks for the assignment and should be well acquainted with what it is like to work in a politically governed organization. You should also have good insights into regional and local challenges and opportunities as well as regional development.

You enjoy working both independently and in a team, and have the ability to communicate complex issues clearly. You have the ability to express yourself clearly and articulately in both speech and writing in both Swedish and English. Familiarity with oral and written presentations and very good skills in Office suite programs are prerequisites.

Great importance will be placed on personal qualities that affect the ability to carry out the task. It is crucial that you are self-driven, responsible, and can drive processes. Additionally, you need to have good collaborative skills and work well with others by relating to them in a responsive and smooth manner. In professional contexts, you are relationship-building with the ability to listen and take in others' perspectives, be flexible and adaptable in different situations. You need to be structured and have good analytical skills.

A driving license (B) and the ability to travel for work are required.
