Additionally, we distribute government grants and develop teaching materials. Together we remove barriers!
We hope that you, as an applicant, with your background and competence, can contribute to increasing our diversity.
We are committed to making everyone's equal value a reality. Together we use collaboration and competence to solve tasks. Developing leadership and increasing diversity are some of the things currently on our agenda. Together we contribute to sustainability in society economically, socially, and environmentally. The special school sector currently comprises over 650 employees. The sector includes all of the authority's regional and national special schools, ten from Umeå to Lund. In addition to the schools, the sector also includes a school operations unit, a quality and administrative unit, and a central student health unit.
The school operations unit is responsible for coordinating support staff for our special schools as well as sign language interpretation and currently has about 10 employees. Other sectors within SPSM also receive support in sign language interpretation.

Manillaskolan has about 70 students and is a multicultural school with students from various countries and cultures. We communicate in Swedish sign language as well as spoken and written Swedish. We also conduct sign language courses for hearing children and youth whose parents are deaf or have a hearing impairment.
