Level Design Educator at The Game Assembly in Stockholm

The Game Assembly (TGA) is a Higher Vocational Education institution in Malmö and Stockholm that trains game developers for the national and international games industry.

Founded in 2008, The Game Assembly educates game developers in six different professional categories: programming, graphics, animation, level design, technical art, and procedural art. To date, The Game Assembly has trained over 10% of the Swedish games industry, making the school a strong player in the ecosystem of the video game industry. TGA has ranked highly on The Rookies' annual list of the world's best game development schools for the past three years. The Game Assembly is LGBTQI-certified and actively works for inclusion and diversity.

The Game Assembly is now looking for a new level design educator for the school in Stockholm. Together with existing educators in the level design program, you will drive and develop the education forward. The work includes teaching with associated preparation and follow-up, as well as mentoring students in both game project courses and more specialized individual courses. The Game Assembly's unique educational concept is based on all programs at the school creating games together in Unity, our proprietary engine TGE, as well as in engines that students create themselves. This means you will also have close collaboration with educators in other programs. You will be part of an engaged team that works together to educate the game developers of the future.

Who are we looking for?

To thrive in the role of educator, we see that you are communicative and have a genuine interest in people and game development. You have good pedagogical skills along with a humble approach and patience. Furthermore, you have a deep interest in level design. We provide our level design students with a holistic view of the profession, so you should have knowledge of and interest in design, graphics, and composition, as well as scripting and technology. You need to have a good understanding of the Swedish language as the entire education is conducted in Swedish.

Furthermore, you need to have:

• experience with Unreal Engine
• knowledge and experience in level design and composition
• experience with scripting in game engines
• experience in the games industry
• the ability to analyze and provide design feedback

We consider it a bonus if you have:

• experience in 3D modeling
• experience in designing educational materials
• experience with agile development methods
• experience in mentoring
