Description

We are looking for someone with an interest in democracy and creating change!

We are seeking two coordinators for the voter empowerment work in the City of Gothenburg, within the unit for service development and citizen influence.

The service and citizen influence unit supports the city's operations in developing needs-based services, strengthening citizen influence, and contributing to an equitable and sustainable city through service development, dialogue tools, and coordination of sustainability efforts.

The voter empowerment mission in Gothenburg aims to contribute to increased and more equitable voter participation. Ahead of the general elections in 2026, targeted efforts will be made to reach groups that vote less frequently. The work will be carried out in collaboration with the city's operations and civil society.

Responsibilities

In the role of coordinator, you will work closely with other colleagues in the voter empowerment efforts. The work includes operational tasks such as initiating various activities and establishing contacts with others in the city and/or civil society. Administrative tasks will also be included.

We are looking for two coordinators with different focuses:

Area and Activity Coordinator

In this role, you will be responsible for collaboration efforts and for planning and implementing activities and events related to the voter empowerment work. You will work to establish and develop collaborations both within the city's operations and with civil society, with a particular focus on local anchoring. You will work throughout Gothenburg but focus on areas with lower voter participation.

Target Group Coordinator

In this role, you will be responsible for collaboration efforts and for planning and implementing activities and events related to the voter empowerment work. You will be responsible for the target group voter ambassadors and their supervisors. The target group voter ambassadors you are responsible for come from the groups of seniors and people with disabilities. You will ensure that they have the conditions and support needed to carry out their tasks, that agreed methods and tools are used, and that the work meets the agreed quality. You will also contribute to developing and managing the resources allocated to the mission.

Regardless of focus, you will work closely with residents and other partners in the mission, maintaining existing collaborations while also creating new local ones and contributing new ideas that strengthen the voter empowerment work and increase engagement and participation among residents.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in a social science field or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. You have documented experience in community-oriented social work and/or work within civil society. You also have documented experience in independently leading processes in collaboration between different actors. It is also important that you have previous experience leading workgroups as a coordinator or team leader, as part of the role involves being the contact person for the voter ambassadors and leading and coordinating the work with the activities carried out. To perform the work effectively, you should also have good local knowledge of the areas of Nordost, Hisingen, and/or Sydväst in Gothenburg.

If you also have established networks in the area, it is an advantage.

For the target group coordinator role, it is advantageous if you have experience working with any of the target groups, such as people with disabilities or seniors.

The work requires you to be social and outgoing. It is also important that you can work both operationally and at a strategic level. You have good collaboration skills and the ability to build networks with various actors and are skilled at creating engagement and capturing different perspectives and the engagement of many. A flexible approach is also a prerequisite for success in the role of coordinator.

Conditions

We offer a workplace with a customer- and service-oriented workplace culture with operations in continuous development. We provide employee benefits such as flexible working hours, wellness grants, and cycling benefits. The administration's premises are centrally located in Gothenburg. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. The positions are temporary until 2026.

About Us

At the democracy and citizen service unit, we work for a simple and sustainable everyday life in an open city where everyone can participate. We work with service, participation, and equality. Good service means that residents, visitors, and businesses should experience contact with the municipality as simple and secure and receive the help they need. We coordinate, develop, and provide service through several different channels that are common to the city. We are tasked with increasing people's opportunities for local democracy, influence, and participation, both through digital tools and physical meetings.

To contribute to a sustainable and equitable everyday life, we offer advice and ensure that those who cannot manage their finances and daily living receive support. Our administration has over 250 employees.
