The Stockholm South area is part of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, Region Stockholm, and includes the Asptuna prison in Norsborg and the Beateberg prison/detention center in Trångsund.

Asptuna is an open prison in security class 3 with 178 places. Beateberg is a closed prison in security class 2 with 80 places and an open section, Grindstugan, with 8 places for women. The Beateberg detention center has 88 places in community. The prisons offer studies at basic and upper secondary level as well as work activities in carpentry and kitchen.

The position is located at the Beateberg prison/detention center in Trångsund.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a security officer, you report to the security inspector at VO Stockholm South and are part of the local security organization. You work both administratively and operationally with security issues, providing advisory support to management and workgroups. The work includes analyses, investigations, preparation of decision-making materials, and participation in internal and external security forums and cross-functional groups.

The role involves coordinating responsibility for monitoring security work within the operational area, including planning, follow-up, and administration of security training.

Your tasks include establishing local security routines and instructions, being the local ISAP coordinator, conducting inspections and controls, being responsible for local security meetings and the introduction of new employees, and administering security equipment and invoices in Proceedo. You collaborate closely with the intelligence service, headquarters, the Police Authority, and other actors in the justice chain.

Within VO Stockholm South, two security officers work with a common manager, placed at different operational locations, with close cooperation and may substitute for each other in case of absence.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is pedagogical and has a good ability to collaborate. You work systematically based on the needs of the organization, take responsibility, drive processes, and achieve results. Furthermore, you have a good initiative with the ability to implement changes in the organization together with our employees and managers. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. It is important to us that you have a positive attitude towards the Swedish Prison and Probation Service and act in accordance with decisions made, the operational plan, goals, policies, and guidelines. You also make correct assessments and have the ability to weigh complex information with various considerations and work with both analysis, investigation, and compliance as tools.

Requirements:

  • Academic education with a focus on security or other education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems equivalent
  • Experience in both operational and strategic security work
  • Very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
  • Driving license B
  • Good IT skills and administrative ability

Meritorious:

  • Experience working as a security officer, security coordinator, CSO, or similar
  • Good knowledge of physical and technical security equipment and solutions
  • Experience from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
  • Completed instructor training in conflict management and self-defense, instructor within apprehension teams, OC and expandable baton, or other security training from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
  • Experience working with risk assessment, analyses, and investigations
  • Good knowledge of laws and regulations related to security work
  • Good experience in compiling and preparing decision-making materials
  • Good knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations
