We are looking for a Specialist in tunnel safety with a fire focus for Technical Systems IVtt5 at the Swedish Transport Administration.

This is a consulting assignment. The stationing location is Stockholm or Gothenburg.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The role of Technical Specialist in tunnel safety involves functioning as a resource consultant with a focus on fire within tunnel safety. You will support projects and project management in planning, design, and construction phases, as well as contribute with expertise, requirement specification, analysis, and training in the area.

Responsibilities

Guide, direct, and follow up on the consultants in the design assignments and contribute to ensuring that work and final results meet the required quality.

Be an expert in the field and contribute to ensuring that projects comply with the Swedish Transport Administration's management system while continuously working for continuous improvements.

Support project management during planning, design, and construction phases in matters related to the field with external parties.

Ensure that documents within the area meet the established technical and functional requirements and support the project's requirement management.

Be responsible for anchoring, providing feedback, and reporting to the designated responsible party in the project.

Represent the field in various types of meetings.

Develop requirements and advice within the subject area.

Participate in various TGM investigations as specialist support.

Contribute with appropriate training for the project within your subject area.

Preparation and review of background reports, e.g., risk assessments and PM, studies and analyses of e.g., fire, fire development, ventilation, evacuation, human factors, response.

Preparation and review of safety, evacuation, and response concepts and other conceptual solutions as well as fire protection documentation and other safety-related documentation.

Preparation and review of time and resource plans.

Participation in internal and external meetings including minute-taking, e.g., scenario games, coordination meetings, and other work meetings as well as project meetings and consultations.

Site follow-up of fire protection.

Requirements (Mandatory)

Fire engineer or equivalent education, which the Swedish Transport Administration assesses as suitable for the assignment.

The Swedish Transport Administration's regulations generally within the subject area of tunnel safety, including the ability to interpret and apply the regulations to projects.

Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and the ability to express oneself well.

Have predominantly worked with tunnel safety for at least eight (8) of the last 15 years.

At least 8 years of experience in fire protection technical investigations in infrastructure projects where tunnels or underground stations have been a significant part of the work content.

At least 8 years of experience in fire design of buildings (BBR knowledge).

Experience from having worked in several phases with tunnel safety from early stages to handover of tunnel/underground station to the managing organization.

Experience from at least two different projects of developing or reviewing safety documentation according to the Swedish Transport Administration's requirements for safety analyses/assessments for railway and road tunnels.

Experience in writing regulations, directives, or requirements and advice within the infrastructure sector.

Desirable

You have documented experience of working as a tunnel safety specialist on the client side or equivalent.

You have documented experience of fire protection design of above-ground railway stations that belong to the Swedish railway system, through the application of the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's building regulations and the Swedish Transport Administration's supplementary requirements, advice, and recommendations in Transport Administration documents (TDOK) and infrastructure regulations (TRVINFRA), e.g., TRVINFRA-00400.

You have experience in planning/leads final exercises with emergency services in tunnels.

You have experience in tunnel safety from both road and railway projects.
