Security Protection Specialist

Do you want to take on a socially important task? We are looking for a security protection specialist with the option to choose a primary focus. You will work in our Security and Facility Management unit, focusing on security protection. You will play an important role in supporting the agency's growth and security protection efforts. With us, you will have the opportunity to develop alongside your colleagues while contributing to a radiation-safe society.

As a security protection specialist, you will work closely with the agency's security protection function. Your role includes strategic, tactical, and operational tasks.

Within the security protection function, there are designated area managers for the various subject areas of the security protection law. Your main focus within security protection will be to be responsible for information security, including information security in and around information systems, and your various area responsibilities may change over time.

In addition to development assignments, you will also handle operational cases within your subject areas but will also support other subject areas with processing as needed. A significant part of the assignment is to support and guide the operations to do the right thing.

You are expected to contribute to creating a holistic approach to security protection work where operational protection is an important stakeholder. In the role of security protection specialist, you are expected to be flexible, solution-oriented, take initiative, lead and coordinate others within the agency, and also support other area managers within security protection and operational protection when needed.

As a natural part of the tasks, you will have ongoing dialogue internally within the agency, but also with external suppliers.

We are looking for someone who has

  • a university degree or other post-secondary education in security, e.g., from the Swedish Defence University, law
  • security protection training
  • extensive, current, and relevant experience as a case officer or specialist regarding information security, including information security in and around information systems within security protection
  • experience in developing governing and supporting documents within the security protection area
  • knowledge of the security protection law, security protection regulations, and the Security Police's regulations on security protection
  • good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish.

It is advantageous if you have

  • experience of specific security protection assessments prior to system implementation
  • experience of exposure to security-sensitive operations
  • experience of signal protection
  • training in and experience of cyber/IT security work
  • experience of working in public operations.

Personal qualities

To succeed in the role of security protection specialist, it is important that you can work independently and possess the ability to work in a structured and driving manner. At the same time, you need to be flexible and adaptable according to workload and due to the fact that the unit is under development. Furthermore, it is essential to have a good ability to collaborate and take initiative. Having an aptitude for administrative and processing tasks is a given.

Employment conditions

The employment is a permanent position with a start date according to agreement. The employment may begin with a six-month probationary period. The place of employment is Solna. Travel in the service occurs. In this role, you will be employed as a case officer.

Some of our tasks are classified, which means that a security clearance with a background check according to the security protection law (2018:585) may be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our classified tasks, Swedish citizenship is also required.

You may be part of the agency's crisis organization and may also be assigned to the agency in times of war. The crisis organization performs radiation protection assessments and nuclear technical analyses and collaborates with other relevant actors to manage radiological emergencies, including situations of heightened alert.
