About the role

As a team leader in software development, you will be involved in the entire product lifecycle. You will be part of a product team responsible for a specific product category within underwater systems such as torpedoes, torpedo support systems, UAVs, and ROVs. You will help interpret requirements, plan and initiate development projects, develop and implement software, and test and verify functionality. The software can be both embedded and Windows-based depending on which product you are working on. Testing takes place both in a lab environment and out in the field. The work also includes documentation, quality assurance, and participation in deliveries. There will be travel both within Sweden and internationally in connection with showcasing the finished product. You will also take on team leader responsibilities, driving the group forward in its work and towards long-term goals.

Saab Underwater Systems is part of the Kockums/Dynamics business area and develops advanced underwater solutions for both civilian and military applications. The operations include torpedoes, unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), and sensor solutions for submarines and surface combatants. Saab is a world leader in several technologies for underwater warfare and has facilities in Linköping and Motala, among others. This position is located in Linköping.

Your profile

To succeed in the role of team leader in software development, we believe you have a degree in software development, embedded systems, computer engineering, innovative programming, or equivalent. You have also been in the workforce for a few years and have gained experience in a relevant field. You have a strong drive in your work and know where you want to go in your career. As a person, you are collaborative, proactive in your work, and possess a strong technical interest. You have the ability to see the big picture and have an engineering mindset. You are also open to taking on a leadership role in the team.

Requirements for the position:

• Bachelor's degree/Master's degree/Technical college degree in software development, innovative programming, computer engineering, embedded systems, or equivalent
• At least 2 years of work experience in a relevant field
• Swedish and English in speech and writing
• For this position, you are required to undergo and be approved according to applicable security protection regulations

Preferred qualifications for the position:

• Experience with DevOps
• Previous experience in leadership roles
