Area of Operations: Ambulance and Emergency Care

We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer care to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (http://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!

Our Operations

The Healthcare Alarm Center (SvLc) consists of four interconnected centers in Uppsala, Västerås, Eskilstuna, and Karlstad and receives all 112 emergency medical calls. The healthcare alarm center is part of the pre-hospital operations and is organizationally part of the ambulance services in each region. The Healthcare Alarm Center receives approximately 300,000 calls per year, and about 40% of these calls are directed to care levels other than ambulances and emergency departments in hospitals.

For the past two years, we have had operational doctors at SvLc during office hours in collaboration with Västmanland to support our nurses at SvLc and in the ambulances. This has gone well, and an expansion of the service to cover all hours of the day, every day of the week, is planned. As a first step in this development, POL will be expanded to also cover nights in Region Uppsala. This is done in collaboration with primary care. Night duty at SvLc includes, in addition to supporting SvLc and the ambulance in Uppsala, supporting nurses at the emergency clinics in Tierp and Östhammar with medical questions when they have patients physically present. This is done via phone or video conference. Also included in this assignment is advising nurses in the nursing departments in Tierp and Östhammar as well as Uppsala.

Your Assignment

Together with the Deputy Operations Manager and Section Manager, you will be responsible for the daily and long-term staffing for POL. The tasks include receiving sick leave notifications, covering sick leaves, making daily changes and adjustments in the schedule. You will work in our personnel administrative system, Heroma.

You are responsible for regular scheduling, training schedules, and are available for questions from the medical team regarding leave and scheduling. You will have close contact with the medical team. You are responsible for the daily operations at the workplace regarding covering gaps due to short-term absence.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience in staffing and scheduling in Heroma. You should have good computer skills and problem-solving abilities. It is advantageous if you have experience with similar tasks and training in personnel administrative systems. If you have also worked in emergency care and are experienced in handling more acute and sudden situations, it is a plus.

Your Competence

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. We are looking for someone who is attentive, outgoing, structured, and has good communication skills. Furthermore, you should be able to work independently and have an interest in staffing and scheduling.

We Offer

We offer a permanent full-time position with a start date according to agreement. We may apply a probationary period of 6 months.

With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
