Student Assistant for Social Media
Are you interested in social media and a skilled content creator? We are now looking for creative students who can create content to inspire prospective students for the university's programs in technology and natural sciences on @uppsalastudent_teknat on Instagram and TikTok.
As a student assistant, you will work together with other students to convey the student perspective on our Instagram and TikTok aimed at prospective students. We want you to feel free to create the content you would have liked to see as a curious future applicant to our programs.
Responsibilities
You will create, adapt, and edit content for the channels. The role requires that you are already well-versed in Instagram and TikTok and their features – for example, that you are aware of trending content, how to edit reels, and enjoy being active on social media. You will belong to a team consisting of students from different programs, as well as communicators from Uppsala University who will lead and support you throughout the process.
The assignment is for one term with the possibility of extension.
Qualifications
- You must be registered in one of the Faculty of Science and Technology's undergraduate or master's programs during the spring term of 2026.
- You speak, understand, and write fluently in Swedish.
- You must be a student on campus in Uppsala or Visby.
- Work samples must be created and submitted according to the instructions below.
Great emphasis will be placed on the assessment of the work sample, based on factors such as creativity, writing, and target audience adaptation.
Desirable/Meritorious
- Ability to work independently and in an organized manner.
- Previous experience in social media work.
Work Sample
To get a sense of your style and work, you need to submit a self-made reel according to one of the following themes:
- Tips for those who have just been admitted
- Tips on the best lunch box
- Tips on the best study spots
You can include a link to your reel in your application, or alternatively send your reel to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]). If the file is too large, you can send it via a transfer service. Please also include your username on Instagram/TikTok when applying for the position.
About the Employment
The employment is temporary according to HF Chapter 5 § 12. You will be hired for each individual assignment and receive financial compensation per assignment. Overall, you are expected to spend an average of 5-10 hours per month. Start date by agreement. Location: Uppsala/Visby.
